Srinagar July 12 – One Lashkar –e-Toiba (LeT) militant was killed in an encounter in Handwara forests while two LeT militants were ALSO arrested in Kupwara in Kashmir.
According to Police that encounter took place between Handwara police, army with militants at Kramhoora forests in Handwara on Sunday. one militant namely Zarkari Bhai R/o Pakistan Battalion commander of Lashker-e-Tobia outfit got killed during encounter. One AK47 rifle, four magazine (damaged), 60 rounds of AK ammunition, one hand held wireless set, one Nokia cell phone with SIM, besides this one identity card of Ghulam Mohiudin Sheikh Forest employee R/o Hanga Handwara, who was beheaded by LeT militants in Zachaldara area in May was recovered from the possession of slain militant. Police has registered a case in this regard.
Police said that Police and army also arrested two LET militants both of them Pakistani nationals in Trehgam Kupwara. Huge cache of arms and ammunition was recovered from their possession besides latest navigation gadgets were also recovered from them.
During search operation in Chingta Dayar area of Trehgam Kupwara,army apprehended two militants of LeT outfit namely Mohammad Shafaqat S/o Mohammad Liyaqat and Adnan S/o Mohd Ashraf both the residents of Sahiwal Punjab, Pakistan. Two AK47 rifles, nine AK magazines, 270 rounds of AK ammunition, one pistol, two pistol magazines, 30 pistol rounds, one GPS, two compass, two Alenco radio sets, five hand grenades, one UBGL round, two RC ID box, two rocket sacks, two pouches, two water bottles, three socks packs and two gloves pairs were recovered. Police has registered a case in this regard.
