Srinagar February 16 (Scoop News) -: In a joint operation by J&K Police and troops, two militant of Lashker-e-Toiba including district commander were killed at village Thokarpora Qaimoh in south Kashmir
Police said that On specific information, Kulgam police along with 9 RR and 18 Bn CRPF cordoned off the village Thokarpora Qaimoh falling under the jurisdiction of Police Station Kulgam wherein an encounter took placein which two Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT) militants were killed.
The slain militants were identified as district commander Mohammad Ashraf Sheikh @ Molvi son of Ghulam Hassan Sheikh resident of Rampora Qaimoh and Mohammad Rouf Bhat son of Mohammad Abdullah Bhat resident of Redwani Bala Qaimoh. Two AK 47 rifles, one hand grenade, three magazines, 55 rounds, one dairy, one Quran Sharief, two pouches and one mobile SIM card were recovered from the site of the encounter. Police has registered a case in this regard.
Meanwhile Handwara Police and army arrested one person namely Abdul Rashid Beigh @ Javaid Mustafa son of Abdul Jabbar resident of Jahama Handwara in north Kashmir, affiliated with Hizbul Mujahideen at Guloora Handwara. One Pistol, one magazine and eight rounds were recovered from his possession. Police has registered a case in this regard.
