The 2010 Libertarian Party National Convention was held in St. Louis, Missouri USA. Although I am an active member of the Libertarian Party, I did not attend. Mark Hinkle, a former California state chair, defeated Wayne Allyn Root of Nevada by 54.14% over Root’s 43.93%, with None of the Above drawing 1.93%. Libertarians have advocated offering voters the option of None of the Above, leaving a position vacant rather than forcing them to vote for someone they abhor. Root is a Las Vegas oddsmaker, the author of The Conscience of A Libertarian and a former candidate for the Libertarian Party’s presidential nomination.
I previously endorsed Hinkle over Root and three other opponents.
