Lieutenant General Thomas L. Conant gets promotion and approval for retirement from the U.S.M.C after distinguished career in military service

Lieutenant General Thomas L. Conant, USMC Deputy Commander, U.S. Pacific Command.

While searching the Congressional Register I ran across a “blip” concerning Lieutenant General Thomas I. Conant, U.S. Marine Corps discussing his approved in rank and retirement from active service.

“A letter from the Secretary, Department of Defense, transmitting a letter on the approved retirement of Lieutenant General Thomas L. Conant, United States Marine Corps, and his advancement on the retired list in the grade of lieutenant general; to the Committee on Armed Services.”

Major General Conant is highly regarded in the U.S. M.C.  He was born and raised in Jackson, Michigan.

He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Central Michigan University. Conant is married to his wife (Beverly) of 40+ years, and they have two sons, Kevin and Andy.

He served as U.S.M.C. Deputy Commander, U.S. Pacific Command.

The United States Pacific Command (USPACOM) is a Unified Combatant Command of the United States armed forces responsible for the Pacific Ocean area. It is led by the Commander, Pacific Command (CDRUSPACOM), who is the supreme military authority for the various branches of the Armed Forces of the United States serving within its area of responsibility (AOR). The chain of command runs from the President of the United States, through the Secretary of Defense, to the Commander, Pacific Command.

It is the oldest and largest of the Unified Combatant Commands. It is based in Honolulu, Hawai’i on the island of O’ahu.
