Life Like Barren Limbs…

Poetry From The Heart

Life like barren limbs…
weather beaten, warped and worn
a nuisance to portray in a field of blooms
taking away memories pure as gold.
Survival robs a body of its form
brings humbleness to a soul.

A display of hollow, bare twigs
undressed, dormant and needing a renewal.
Exposes the harshness breathing brought
to a foundation once strong and full of strength.
Struggles and temptations not kind to its frame
flaccidity steals a muscular well-built physique.

A being left standing in the elements
brings decay, destruction and wear
sucking out physical power, resistance and resolve
depleting a life once vibrant and strong
leaving a human waiting for the power
from the Almighty to keep them heroic.

Life like barren limbs…
