LIFE WITH A BPO

When the moon rises, Tom (a friend working with an American Call Center) knows its time to prepare for office. He starts at in the evening and comes back at around home, when generally people go to work in India. He is working as a Manager in one of the best Call Centers in Gurgaon. He has 5 years of work experience and gets paid handsomely as a manager, Tom wont accept, however it’s a fact that due to unusual office timings,  kept and untimely eating food, excess of smoking and lack of proper sleep he has spoiled his health.

If only he would have been suffering from all above even than its ok, but now he is married and have kids they suffer because of his shift timings which are completely opposite of a normal 9-5 man. His wife Alina works for a Travel Agency and have 9-6 shift timings they hardly see each other on week days. Last night Tom shared something which left me speechless for sometime. He said “Yesterday I went to the doctor because I had viral Infection, Doctor told me to go for Blood test and X-ray when I last visited him. Reports have come and it says that. I have Brain Tumor, which is in the second last stage”. Doctor said due to improper sleep, excess of smoking and different work timings for every week might have caused tumor. Tom is only 35, Doctor has told him he has hardly 6 months left.

This is not with just Tom; it might happen to anyone who plays with his health. BPOs pay good money; nevertheless undisciplined lifestyle is also a fact of this Industry. Now you have to choose either of them.
