Jammu and Kashmir: Only after two days, one more truck loaded by herbs was
returned back by Indian business man saying that consignment was never
ordered by him. Earlier, a truck was returned back for carrying
substandard goods.
Well informed sources said that Indian trader Anil Traders Jammu
refused to accept a truck dispatched by Semi & Sameer Trader Hazeera
bearing registration No AX 650 loaded with herbs on the pretext that
the herbs were sub standard. Another R R Trader from Jammu refused to
accept a truck, bearing registration No TKR 0853 dispatched by Semi &
Sameer Trader Hazeera loaded with herbs, on the pretext that he did
not demand those items and those herbs were dispatched by his
counterpart on his own, they added.
It is important to mention that trade and travel routes were opened to
generate goodwill among divided families of divided parts of Jammu and
Kashmir, but it emerged as a route for mistrust and gateway of
import-export of fire arms and ammunition. In the past several
episodes of recovering guns on crossing point has sent shock waves to
deep spine to some of them claiming credit for opening such routes and
also to those demanding opening more such roads along the LoC.
I fail to understand as what sort of trade is this, because the day
trade LoC started vegetables particularly onions and tomato proses
touched the sky, it appears as Indian traders are exporting these
items instead their claims of importing the same, said Ramesh Chander
a vegetable vendor adding that fruit are beyond he reach of a common
man due to this trade. He said that buses come and go empty as per
news reports, so there is no fun of continuing such a risky funfair,
it is better to break nexus between limited people in the name of
trade by closing it once for all as earliest as possible.
Meanwhile, Imili and banana remained main attraction from Indian side
whereas onion and herbs from PoK. Usually, the goods being traded at
LoC are neither the produce of Jammu in India nor of PoK in Pakistan,
authoritive sources said on he conditions of anonymity.
