At a time when the news says "downturn," in Beverly, Massachusetts, the local Chamber of Commerce has found increasing membership and a willingness to stage a Trade Show in the largest commercial venue in the region.
The Cummings Center, in Beverly, once the largest shoe making factory in the world, hosted the day long event that had multiple goals.
As well as showcasing goods and services available to people in the region, the show was a way to bring business owners and managers together, something Jon B. Hurst, the President of the Retailers Association of Massachusetts, was glad to see.
Mr Hurst addressed the exhibitors, and encouraged them to consider together how to be politic in advancing the local economy. See Video – Kristen Schaertel & Chris Gilbert reporting.
