Fr. Robert Reyes known as the “running Priest” and an activist par excellence criticized the catholic leaders for its reluctance to take a stand against the many cases of graft and corruption committed by the Arroyo administration. In an interview, Fr. Reyes disclosed that the church officials are receiving big donations from the government and they are afraid to lose the perks if they will join the people’s call for Arroyo’s resignation.
Obviously, church leaders are aware of the government’s lack of credibility and the practice of mammonism in high places. They are the silent witnesses to the wrongdoings of the men in government. Because they love MONEY more than their religious duty to guide their brethren, church leaders ignored the peoples’ cry for moral revolution.
And it’s a pity that in religious sector only Fr. Reyes and a Bishop are calling for the opening of the “chamber of secrets” (massive immorality in government). The other Bishops and Archbishops are in collusion with the greedy-guts, the one who practice mammonism. They are preventing the “chamber of secrets” to be exposed to the public through the Senate investigation.
To add insult to injury, the street parliamentarians of yesteryears who fought the Marcos dictatorship are the one protecting pervasive graft and corruption and the evil that hides in the present government. These people are ten times greedier than Marcos abetted by their being cultic members of mammonism. And they wield power more than the dictatorial power of Marcos. The Philippines really runs like hell by the bad guys.
