Longest load shedding (unscheduled) exercising in Chitral.
CHITRAL: The most longest and unscheduled load shedding of 22 hours exercising in Chitral. Consumers facing great hardships due to sever hot weather and no supply of electricity. The Peshawar Electricity Supply Company (Pesco) staff removed links of Transformers at Balach upper village, Civil Aviation and Met colony at 7.00 PM on Wednesday to disconnect power supply to entire areas as a result the whole area plunged into dark for more than 22 hours. Especially the ailing and children were faced great problems because on one had they were badly suffering from hot weather while on the other hand they were worrying and disturbing by mosquitoes. Hence some consumers complained and alleged that Pesco staff not disconnecting supply of electricity at some specified areas where blue eyed consumers living. There are diesel generator at hydropower house but the pesco staff not running (operating) them on the pretext of non-availability of fuel (diesel). Residents of Balach upper village have appeal the federal Minister for water and power, Chairman Wapda and Chief Executive Pesco Peshawar for taking stern action against Pesco staff on distribution of electricity injustice as they depriving some areas totally for more than 22 hours and ignoring some areas of influential figures. They also appeal high ups of WAPDA for directing Pesco staff Chitral to operate Diesel generate for power generation to minimize the longest period of load shedding. It is worth to mention here that despite existing capacity for power generating upto 4500 megawatt at Chitral downtrodden people of some areas are badly suffering from longest and unscheduled load shedding from 13 to 18 hours daily as Pesco line staff remove links of transformers at some areas where there neglected people living and connecting power supply to those areas where some influential people living. They have warned if the situation nor normalized they will be come on roads and will carry with a aggressive protests. Meanwhile in a meeting of Restoration of electricity Movement members with DCO Chitral they warned for assuring power supply by giving ultimatum of 10th August and demanded for posting out of line superintendent Ghulam Rashid and they were assured that he would be posted out upto August 12.
