Jammu,March 28 (Scoop News) – Panun Kashmir today alleged that the land mafia had grabbed land belonging to Kashmiri Pandits.
Addressing a press conference in Jammu , Dr. Agnishekhar, Convener of Panun Kashmir said that we noted despicably the cultural – religious genocide of Kashmiri Pandits unleashed in Kashmir under a novel sinister design of usurpation, encroachment , sale of land and properties of number of temples, shrines and Asthapans of Kashmiri Pandits by vested interests in the valley.
He alleged that the government agencies and departments, land mafia and some fringe trusts so much so that loot like situation had and is taking place.
Dr agnisheler told reporters that Kashmiri Pandit community shall not, come what may, in any way, succumb to such tactics with intent to diluting its stand of irrevocable claim and ownership of these temples and their immovable properties.
Panun Kashmir brought out glaringly shocking instances of temple land encroachments and usurpation of their properties in a sustained and organized way through clandestine means. Kashmiri Hindus are indigenous historical owners of Kashmiri Mandirs and shrines for thousands of years,Dr said
. He pointed out as to how even the cremation grounds and the Shishu Samadhies of the revered Holy Jwala Ji at Khrew have not been spared by such sinner looters. He said that approach ways to a large portion of the land of this famous Mandir, turned into residential plots, have been made through these eternal resting places of the dead, the parallel of which, have not been recorded in the pages of history even during the tyrannical rule of Sultan Sikander (1393-1416) who had earned the ignominy of razing hundreds of the most ancient Hindu temples during the process of forced proselytization .
Dr. Agnishekhar said that the situation of the present government is worst than that of Sultan Zain –ul- Abdin “Budshah” who tried to set right some of the numerous smeared wrongs of Sikander by rebuilding a few of the demolished Hindu temples. It is astonishing to note as to how, very recently, temple land worth crores of rupees of Mahavir temple has been caused to be sold. No arrests have been made so far and the land mafia is ruling the roost enjoying the state patronage.
He further said that properties of as many as 153 temples as per conservative estimates, have been illegally disposed of for hundreds of crores of Rupees and constructions of shops, malls, residential houses etc; made thereon, none of which, have been pulled down by the government, being illegal and without building permission. He said that tampering of some revenue records have taken place which should be probed into by CBI and findings made public immediately.
Dr Agnishaker said that pleas of the exiled community to bring a strong legislation for protecting and preserving these temples are deliberately ignored by the government itself and partly due to the maneuverings of some influential political elements and some business lobbies who have no locus standi in the matter.
He also disagreed with some baseless claims of some fake sadhus and their bodies over their claim on some temples whom he advised to concentrate on pooja duties only and not go beyond and not play in the hands of the land usurpers and temple looters.
The role of Dharmarth trust, added Dr. Agnishekhar, is not acceptable in their unnecessary meddling in the affairs of the valley temples, going to the extent of even attempting to stand up in tandem with the land grabbers of the Hindu temples. Just citing one of their very recent designs, one Abdul Rashid Durrani of Pampore has been reportedly given a power of attorney by one Kanwar Diwaker Singh of the Trust for grabbing 2 kanals and 9 marlas of Vetal Mandir, Rainawari for which there has never been any established link of any nature whatsoever of the Trust. There are reportedly many similar instances being compiled by Panun Kashmir which shall be exposed and their veracity challenged.
Besides, Dr. Agnishekhar, Sanjay Dhatatarya National Cordinator Omkar Nath Bhat Senior Activist, Ram Krishen Kaul, Shiban Ji Media Chairman, and Rajinder Kaul also briefed the press members.
