Lord Krishna’s Flute Stolen in India

Mathura, India,
9th Aug 07

Just a few days before Janam ashtami, a festival celebrated on the occasion of Lord Krishna’s birth day. Lord Krishna’s flute has been stolen from keshab temple in Mathura (a religious city in northern India). The case has been registered by the police and the temple authorities have left behind all the important preparations for the Janam ashtami festival to seek the holy golden flute of Lord Krishna.

“Nobody went inside the temple after the main priest of the keshab temple performed the daily prayers,” sources said. This has been noticed from a so many years that ancient ornaments and statues are getting vanished overnight from the temples and museums in a land which has the thousands of years old civilization.

These ancient treasures of India are smuggled and sold to even private collectors in heavy prices outside the country. As religion plays a vital role in a common man’s life in India, thefts like these would result in a hazardous mode in the country of festivals, gods and colors.
