Loves Often A Peculiar Sort Of Thing

Poetry from Barbara Kasey Smith’s Corner of the World:

The dusty road’s a magnet to us
love blooms discovering a trust.
Grime circles eyes and noses
limbs skinned and blistered toes.

Racers zoom up and down the road
images of power carries the load.
Teenage loves in full afterglow …
hearts throb… seducer grows.

Passions intense as promises emerge
helpless adolescents become inspired.
The wheel of attraction begins to spin
weaves a web of magnetism and give-in’s.

Loves often a peculiar sort of thing
it twines up a spirit to desire a fling.
Eyes meet and pleasures originate
a  soul desires a magical date.

The dusty road’s a magnet to us
affection blossoms to reap a lust.
Dusty roads, a magnet to us
tenderness thrives satisfying our thirst.
