Lynn Forester de Rothschild, Hillary Clinton’s top fundraiser, has announced her support of the McCain-Palin presidential ticket.
Lynn Forester de Rothschild is a millionaire businesswoman who is a member of the Democratic National Committee’s Platform Committee and the DNC’s Democrats Abroad chapter. Her prior allegiances to the Democratic party have not swayed her from supporting Republican candidate John McCain.
Lynn Forester de Rothschild is one of many Hillary Clinton supporters to throw her weight behind the Republican nominee after Clinton lost the Democratic nomination in a close primary race to Senator Barack Obama. The difference between Rothschild and most Clinton supporters is that Rothschild raised more than $100,000 for Clinton. She says that she does not support Senator Obama because he is "arrogant and has a problem connecting with average Americans."
Rothschild is expected to make a public announcement of her McCain endorsement on Wednesday.
