Jammu/Srinagar, May 06 (Scoop News) –Overlooking the world famous Dal lake in Srinagar summer capital, famous ancient shrine of Goddess Zestha Devi will have Maha Yagya on May 9 this year.
"Mata Zeastha Devi shrine in Srinagar capital city will have Maha Yagya for the welfare of the people on 9th of May,2012", Zestha Devi Prabhandak Committee President B B Bhat said.
Located in bottom of woods of Shankeracharya mountain range and overlooking Dal Lake, Zeastha Devi shrine is home for of over over 2 lakh Kashmiri Pandits visiting the shrine annually.
The Maha-Yagya will start on 9th of May 2012 at 7.00 PM with Pushp Archana and Puran Ahuti will be offered on 10th of May, 2012 followed by Prashad Vitaran.
On this occasion, Mukhya Dhwar of Mata Zeshta Shrine will be inaugurated by Kuldeep Khoda Director General of Police J&K.
The Maha Yagya will be solemnized under the auspices of Shastri Omkar Nath Ji, who will be delivering a religious discourse on this occasion.
The Committee has also arranged dinner for the inmates of Old Age Home at Ambphalla, Jammu on this occasion.
The abode of Mata Zyestha is at a stones throw from the place called "Gupkar" in the Srinagar city. All the devotees worshipping Goddess Zyestha are fully protected and receive Mother’s grace uninterruptedly. It has been a tradition to offer ‘cooked yellowish rice" (in kashmiri "tehar") on all Thursdays during the month of Zyesth.
This famous ancient shrine of Kashmir for worldly people is a place for attaining Siddi, Riddhi and Buddhi in all fields.
