A big tragedy was averted inside prime child specialty centre of Jammu city, Shri Maharaja Gulab Singh Hospital (SMGSH) after scrap of the nurses’ ward’s roof collapsed in the Gynaecology and Children’s wing this afternoon, but leaves no harm to human lives.
According to sources, an under-constructed roof plunged inside Ward No. 17 of SMGS this afternoon, where some repairing work was going on when the incident happened, adding, however, there were no reports of any injuries or harm to human lives.
At least 10-15 patients were admitted in particular ward when the incident occurred and immediately after the incident, hospital staff, management and police team rushed to the spot, and shifted all the patients to other associated wards, they said.
Talking to Kashmir Images, Dr. Dara Singh, Deputy Superintendent, SMGSH, said, “This incident occurred while some repair work was going on in the Ward, however, there is no report of any harm to human lives.”
However, we managed to shift all patients to other wards in time, he added.
