A man named Roshan Bharati, 36, of Damak-13, Jhapa has been arrested by the Metropolitan Police Crime Division (MPCD) for spreading rumors of Al Qaeda bombing in Pashupatinath Temple.
According to Nepal Police, ” Roshan had send hoax email by hacking email account of Kaiyum Riyaz, a Pakistani national and Nepal-based representative of Kalki Avatar Foundation to Younus Al Gohar, co-founder of KAF, on November 25. The criminal has used spy software to hack the account.”
The email reads
“Sir, we all are set to detonate a bomb in Pashupatinath Temple on December 6. Some Nepalis have been keeping an eye on us and we have arranged RDX (cyclotrimethylene trinitramine).”
Under investigation the Nepal police has charged Roshan under Electronic Transaction Act, 2008, for committing cyber crime. Any person, who commits cyber crime is liable to punishment with fine of up to Rs 100,00 or maximum jail term of five years or both if found guilty.
