One of the attack is the MAN -IN THE -MIDDLE ATTACK or also referred to as BUCKET-BRIGADE ATTACK or JASON ATTACK.This attack is active in eavesdropping .
In this,the attacker makes independent connections with the victims and relays messages between them,making the clients believe that they are directly talking to each other,infact which is controlled by the attacker.
This attack is successful when the attacker can impersonate each endpoint to the satisfaction of the other.This attack can be defensed by using some of the techniques-
- Publis key infrastructure
- stronger mutual authentication
- secret keys
- passwords
- off-channel verification
off-record verification
