A UK man, Wayne Forrester, 34, was sentenced October 17 to a minimum of fourteen years in jail.
Forrester admitted in February to violently murdering his wife by hacking her to death with a meat clever after driving fifteen miles under the influence of cocaine and alcohol because she changed her Facebook status to single, an act which he said aggravated him after they separated.
The body was found by neighbors at 6:30 AM who were awoken by her screaming. Near the body was a large kitchen knife and in another room, a blood-soaked meat cleaver.
Peter Dahlsen, Forrester’s defense, said the murderer holds "a deeply-felt remorse."
The couple were never on a firm foundation, with frequent separations and reconciliations, and volatile work relations.
