Manipur Journalist Beaten up

Journalists in Manipur have threatened to launch an agitation after a senior reporter with an English daily was assaulted by a security officer on monday night.
Chaoba Aribam, a senior reporter with The Imphal Free Press who was returning home from work at 11.00 pm was allegedly thrashed by an Indian Reserve Battalion Officer.
Mr Aribam sustained severe injuries having been hit several times in the forehead with a radio set. he was rushed to the hospital; the wounds needed four stiches.
