Manipuri and Nagaland, along with Tripura, are three of the states of the Indian union. Tripura and Manipur were princely states with mythological accounts tracking back their history to the epic age.

The Manipuri people Valley are orthodox Vaishnavite of Hindu religion. The people and their houses are perhaps the cleanest in the land. Their greatest contribution to the country is the Manipuri dance, one of the four classical dance forms of India.. for every Family, music and dance is a way of life. The women work harder than the men the women’s bazaar (shopping) every evening in the towns and villages with its hundreds of flickering kerosene lamps is a permanent part of life the valley.
The winding roads hugging the hillsides were cut off by landslides as soon as they were built, and in some areas the instability of the soil made it impossible to get a road through. Bridges were many, materials for which had to come from faraway places.
