Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao, The New WBC Super Featherweight Champion

Manny Pacquiao was declared the new Super Featherweight Champion after beating Juan Manuel Marquez after 12 rounds.

It’s been 4 years, since Marquez-Pacquiao last fought.  Their first fight in May 2004  ended in  a draw.  Pacman finished the Business.

During the first round, both fighters begin very cautiously. Pacquiao lands the first punch of the fight. He is already  using the right hand more often than the first encounter. On the third round, Pacquiao lands a straight left hand punch and is pressing forward. Pacquiao sent Marquez down with a strongly placed left hand. Marquez tried to rise but he barely finishes the third round on his feet. During the seventh round, Marquez sustained a cut over the right eye.  On the eight round, Pacquiao had a hard time because of the cut he sustained on his right eye. This bleeding cut slowed down Pacman with a great deal. This round maybe the best round in favor of Marquez. On Round nine, Pacman was able to recover and was back on his feet. During tenth round, Manny comes out the corner and immediately stunned Marquez with a punches from left and right hand. Marquez barely gets his legs back, but Pacquiao is taking control here. Round eleven seems to be  in favor of Marquez. The last round, a hard straight right lands for Pacquiao but Marquez comes back with one of his own. Both still thinking knockout at this point.

The judges had a split decision. Judge Duane Ford favored Pacquiao 115-112 , Jerry Roth favored Marquez with a score of 115-112 while Tom Miller gave a  114- 113 in favor of Pacquiao.
