Mansi Kewat’s dream to become a doctor to serve the poor & the needy

 

Jammu, April 18 (Scoop News) – 11 year old Mansi Kewat is flying high these days. After securing first rank in her third class examination Mansi has started working hard to fulfil her dream of donning doctor’s coat in her career.

 

Daughter of a daily wage labourer Teerash Ram Kewat hailing from Chaittisgarh, Mansi want to study medicine and serve the poor and needy in her life.

Presently studying in Govt girls High school Bhagwati Nagar, Mansi  is one of the proud students enrolled under Project PAHL-an initiative of the Damodhar Satri Udyog Sanstha.

After attending school classes i also attend special classes under Project PAHL,Mansi said adding  after finishing house hold work she completes all her home work sitting near candle light in her temporary home in slum area  in Mohinder Nagar area. "I love sketching and painting and teachers at PAHL encourage me to fill colours on the canvas",Mansi said.

At present PAHL is teaching more than 110 students coming from different strata of the society all under one roof and imparting elementary education besides teaching them social etiquettes.

In her spare time Mansi takes care of her younger siblings in the absence of her mother.

“I cook food with the help of my father and take care of the daily needs of my brother and sister, younger to me, Mansi said.

“ I want them to study as well and have also enrolled them in Project PAHL. Sunita and Sunil Kewat, younger siblings of Mansi accompany her to the evening classes and learn while playing with the help of modern teaching aids.

Secretary Damodhar Satri Udyog Sanstha, Mrs Sunita Chandra said that Mansi is a bright child and is very hard working.Despite facing several hardships at her tender age she has matured a lot.She is a responsible student and volunteer her services during routine events organised by Project PAHL.
