Jammu, March 14 (Scoop News) – Minister for Industries and Commerce Surjit Singh Slathia on behalf of Chief Minister today informed Legislative Assembly that the construction of various micro and macro power projects in the State have been approved by the Government.
Replying to a question raised by Syed Basharat Ahmad Bukhari, the Minister said that 2.30 MW Shranz Hydro Electric Project in Sangrama Constituency was advertised in IPP Phase-II. He said due to limited response, it was decided to invite fresh bids for execution of this power projects, adding that the project would be re-advertised after notification of revised State Hydel Policy.
Legislators Abdul Majid Wani, Chouwdhary Mohammad Ramzan, Nazir Ahmad Gurezi, Ajaz Ahmad Khan, Mohammad Sharief Niaz, G. M. Saroori, Rafiq Hussain Khan, Jagdish Raj Sapolia, Hakeem Mohammad Yasin, Abdul Haq Khan, Sajad Ahmad Kitchloo and Er. Abdul Rashid raised supplementaries to the main question and highlighted the demands for taking up of micro and macro power projects in their constituencies.
The Minister assured the legislators that necessary action would be taken to speed up the work on under execution power projects, besides new power projects to be also taken up after completion of all poultry farms. He said to tap the state’s 20,000 power potential, the government has decided to take up most power projects under state sector.
