Marijuana: Legalize or Not

Marijuana, “pot, maryjane, reefer” by whatever name you choose to call it, should made legal but yet taxed highly.

The government has stated that we have free will to do as we choose, yet it continues to tell us what we can and cannot do as an individual. If the reason the government says we cannot use marijuana or buy it is because it endangers others, then reason would stand that just about everything in today’s world should be abolished. Cars emanate worse fumes than cigarettes and are more noxious and faster at killing the human brain cells. Intoxicating beverages, when used beyond moderation can mame or even eradicate a human being. What about the loved cigarette, yes it should be gone too.

We comprehend the government makes rules for the good of the common people and not just one individual, but it is not just one person smoking or growing “pot” anymore. Haven’t we learned that as human beings, you tell us not to do something and we are going to do it much more?

Do we have justifiable reasons to decriminalize marijuana? I say, yes we do. The hemp plant alone has many agricultural values and many we could explore. The therapeutic value of the plant itself has many uses. There are even religions that use the marijuana plant in their religious convictions. If we would just research unobjectively with out prejudice, we might find other uses that the hemp plant is good for and in conclusion the government and the people would agree on something.
