Juan Manuel Marquez unanimously defended his WBC Super featherweight title against Rocky Juarez. The champion out boxed the small and slow Juarez in their 12 round fights. Marquez showed his true form against Juarez who looked lethargic in every round as shown by the judges score cards. The Mexican fighter who promised to defeat the challenger is now looking for a Pacquiao rematch. Promoters of both camps had promised earlier that Marquez and Pacquiao will be pitted against each other early next year. The WBC sanctioning body had called on Marquez and Pacquiao to dispute the WBC title and reminded both fighters to allow it to happen in the earliest. But kinks might prevent it to commence because both fighters are asking higher price. Marquez, as champion wants the bigger purse on his table. But Pacquiao, as the crowd drawer disagree with Marquez, insisting that he is the prize fighter, the more attractive fighter than anybody else, including Marquez. Maybe their differences will be ironed out next year and both fighters will meet in the ring to outwit each other in the “ego busting match” of 20008.
