Over 50 people are stated to be dead and scores others injured in the five-star hotel blast in Pakistan’s capital Islamabad on Saturday evening.
The entire hotel building is still on fire but pople stranded inside have been evacuated safely, the owner of the hotel Mr Sadruddin Hashwani told the media outside the destroyed hotel. Reports also said a portion of the hotel building has collapsed.
The blast occurred at the Marriott Hotem situated near the parliament house and presidency at about 8pm. TV channels show the hotel building in fire and rescuers rushing to the scene.
