Jammu, October 26(Scoop News)- To commemorate the 65th martyrdom day of Brig Rajinder Singh, MVC, the Saviour of Kashmir, the J&K Ex-Service League in collaboration with Academy of Art Culture and Languages, Jammu organised a function at Rajinder Singh Auditorium, University of Jammu here today.

General Anup Singh Jamwal (Rtd), Brig R.S. langeh VSM, Director Rajya Sainik Board, Professor Anita Billawaria, Director Centre for History and Culture of Jammu & Ladakh Jammu University, Maj General( Rtd) Goverdhan Singh Jamwal, President J&K Service league, Joint Director of Information, Soujanya Sharma , Ex- Deputy Chief Minister, Pt. Mangat Ram Sharma besides other dignitaries paid homage to the martyr.
The daughter of Brig. Rajinder Singh, Urvashi Pathania and other members were also present on the occasion.
It is pertinent to mention here that on this day Brig Rajinder Singh Jamwal laid down his life at Buniyar (Uri) while fighting with Pak invaders. After the fall of Muzaffarbad on 22nd of October, 1947 he proceeded to deal with the Pak attack with 100 men and fought his first action at Garhi on 23rd October, 1947. Although, one platoon was lost in action at Garhi yet this gallant action provided enough time to Brig Rajinder Singh to demolish
