At least three mass grave found inside the BDR head quarter. Seventy bodies have been recovered from one grave & still more dead bories are in the graves. The body of BDR Chief Maj .Gen Shakil Ahmed was found in a trench near the Dabar Hall inside the headquarters compound. Another notable of the latest find was the body former additional director general of RAB and BDR Sylhet sector commander Col. Gulzar Uddin Ahmed.
The government announced two days of national mourning after scores of army officers were killed in a BDR mutiny.
Bangladesh Government has named a new director general for the troubled border guards Bangladesh Rifles Brig Gen Moinul Hossain, AWC; PSC is the new DG of BDR. Government also said the general amnesty will not be for those who "directly" took part in killings. The authorities have arrested at least 200 suspected mutineers.
The bloody mutiny by BDR personnel was a result of a "pre-planned conspiracy" & million of taka was spent on making it happen, state minister for local government Jahangir Kabir Nanak told reporters at the BDR headquarters.
