Mass wedding ceremony

 

Mass wedding ceremony held at Madaglasht valley.

 

CHITRAL: Mass wedding ceremony was held here at Paradise like valley of Madaglasht some 90 KM from here where 14 couples were married. The mass wedding ceremony was organized by Aga Khan Council in collaboration with Aga Khan Social Welfare Board. The organizer committee collected 2 to 3 thousands rupees from each bride and bridegroom for marriage feast by giving only one dish. They also fixed rupees 40 to 50 thousands rupees as alimony and jointure per bride. The mass wedding was arranged to save from extra extravagance. A culture and musical show was also arranged on this occasion. They brides were given gifts by Aga Khan Social Welfare Board and were sent to their new houses. A large number of men and women folk of the area participated the ceremony.  The wedding ceremony was celebrated with a very simple way to save money and time from wastage which should be boosted.

 

Police seized 4 Kg Hashish, 1 rifle and 1 pistol.

 

Anti Narcotics Squad (ANS) received some information by informer that some body is busy in selling Hashish. After receiving this information ANS In-Charge Sub Inspector Sultan Baig detailed police party comprising on head constable Abdul Karim Shah and other who raided at Hayat Market. After searching secret parts of the shop police sophisticated 4 kilograms of Hashish from the posses of Javed resident of Barikot Afghanistan recently settled at Goldor Chitral while a 12 Bore Rifle and one pistol were  seized from the posses of tailor master Fasil Khan. Police also arrested accused persons on the spot and lodged cases against them under Pakistan Panel code and started further investigations. Social, religious and political circle of Chitral highly appreciated this act by ANS and demanded from District Police Officer Chitral for continuation of such raided so as to declare Chitral a narcotics free district.

Meanwhile Brep bridge is once again hitting by heavy flood at Yarkhun River. Local people are in the opinion that if water level and flow remain the same it is feared that people living across the  river will be disconnected and they will have no passage. Inhabitants of the area have appeal Federal and Provincial government for early construction of Brep bridge as well as protection Bund to save the pedestal bridge immediately.
