MBNA, the UK’s number one credit card provider, has just launched a new card which has the longest ever balance transfer than any other on the market.
The MBNA Platinum credit card offers new customers zero percent p.a on balance and money transfers for a whopping 30 months from the day the account is opened, and zero percent p.a on purchases for three months from the same date. This is in addition to their large offering of charity credit card schemes such as its RSPCA credit card.
MBNA says the card is the longest it has ever offered in the UK and that it is a “fantastic opportunity” for consumers looking to gain back control over their finances.
The zero percent p.a offer applies to transfers made within the first 60 days (two months) of a customer opening a Platinum credit card account, and includes an eligibility check, which allows applicants to check whether they are able to open an account without damaging their credit rating. If they are not eligible, MBNA will offer them another credit card product more suited to their needs.
Customers can also make use of the MBNA balance transfer calculator on its website, to estimate the savings they could make during the 30 month period by transferring existing balances onto a Platinum credit card. Whilst transfers come with zero percent p.a, a 2.89 percent handling fee applies to balance transfers and a 4 percent fee for money transfers.
MBNA has been named the Credit Card Provider of the Year in the Consumer Moneyfacts Awards 2014, as voted for by UK consumers. As well as its generous platinum credit card, MBNA card services also include a range of charity credit cards, which incur charitable donations on the customer’s behalf every time they make a purchase or transfer, without costing them money.
MBNA says the Platinum credit card is part of its commitment to making life easier for current customers, and its future ones.
