In the newest Web ad by the John McCain campaign, there were faces of US Democratic presidential hopefuls Hillary Clinton, John Edwards, and Barack Obama. In the Web spot, all of the candidates have mentioned John McCain’s name.
The text on-screen asks one question: “What keeps the Democrats up at night?”
This ad scrolls through clips of various people in the Democratic Party that most fears McCain as the GOP nominee for president. The ad comes after the CNN Democratic debates in South Carolina, where McCain’s name was frequently said on stage.
“Democrat Senators Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama and John Edwards said John McCain’s name 15 times during the course of their hour and a half-long debate this week,” according to Jill Hazelbaker, McCain spokeswoman.
Hazelbaker adds: “Why? They fear John McCain most because he’s the one candidate who can rally the conservative Reagan Coalition while appealing to independent voters to win in November.”
CNN recently released a poll of hypothetical general election match-ups. It revealed that McCain performed the best against any of the major Democratic candidates.
