At a fundraiser at for Mike Huckabee taking place at Norris’ ranch, Chuck Norris addresses John McCain as a candidate. The martial arts actor looks to have plenty to say about John McCain. Norris made note about McCain’s age.
“Look at the presidents in the past. Look at George W. Look at how he’s aged in seven years. He’s aged 3 to 1 in seven years. Bill Clinton, he aged 3 to 1. Former President Bush, who I saw a lot – I saw him age in those four years,” Chuck Norris said to reporters at the fundraiser at his home ranch.
He then added: I’m thinking now, if John takes over the presidency at 72 and, if he ages 3 to 1. How will he be in four years?…Can he handle that kind of pressure in that job?”
Chuck Norris who is an actor, producer, and martial arts expert said he has known McCain for over twenty years and loves the guy. He said that his decision on who to support for president came as a matter of both youth and energy. Norris also added that the vision and communication skills are also needed to work.
Huckabee was asked if it would be more effective to run a negative campaign than a positive one. He said, “it might be but then at the end of the campaign, what have you done. The phrase comes to mind, if you gain the whole world and lose your soul, what does it profit you.”
Norris was quick to go to Huckabee’s aid. He would deal with the punches on Huckabee’s behalf.
Chuck Norris said he had opposed Giuliani’s views on both gay marriage and adoption. He called Mitt Romney a shallow candidate who used a memorized script.
Then a reporter asked Huckabee if he agreed with Norris on McCain being too old.
“Only John McCain and his hairdresser know for sure,” Huckabee answered.
He then added: “I think what Chuck’s point is…it is a very stressful position…I don’t think he is, I’m not going to say he’s too old. I think he’s got a lot of inner strength; good genetic factors from his mom, so, I don’t know. I know more about whether I am fit to do it and I think I am. I’m 52 years old and I’m capable, ready, tuned up, everything but tanned.”
While Chuck Norris feels that McCain is too old, US Republican presidential hopeful Mike Huckabee looks to think otherwise.
