Millions are spent annually on developing the latest and most innovative medical technology. Across the country, more than $12 billion was spent on cosmetic dermatology last year, according to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. New amongst these surgeries is the ICON, whichtargets age spots, sun damage, skin tone and texture, fine lines, and wrinkles. On Tuesday, March 24, 2015, Dr. Sanjiv Saini, the medical director of MD Dermatology, will host an open house to educate the public about the skin health benefits of the new ICON laser. The event will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at 3168 Braverton Street, Suite 340, Edgewater, Maryland.
“When choosing the right skin care treatment for yourself, the best thing that you can do is be educated on all of the options available to you,” explains Dr. Sanjiv Saini of MD Dermatology, with locations in Edgewater, Glen Burnie, and Lexington Park, Maryland. “It’s vital to stay on top of the newest innovations and we’re thrilled to be able to provide our patients access to the new ICON laser.”
Dr. Saini will be hosting the event and answering all questions, as well as addressing the synergistic approach to both prevention and treatment in regard to the aging process.
The ICON laser will be utilized for the following at the MD Dermatology offices:
· IPL. Also known as Intense Pulsed Light, this advanced light-based technology clears undesirable brown spots, sun damage and vessels, revealing clearer, more beautiful skin. Patients should expect to get this treatment twice per year for optimal skin maintenance and results.
· Fractional Laser Resurfacing. This can improve the appearance of age spots, sun damage, skin tone and texture, and fine lines.
· Fractional Laser Wrinkle Treatment. This addresses deeper facial lines and creases in the periorbital (eye) area, crow’s feet, perioral (mouth), frown lines, lipstick lines and any facial wrinkles.
“The ICON laser performs a variety of functions and is adaptable to your specific skin issue because it focuses on a variety of skin types and skin problems,” explains Saini. “It’s a great fit for all ages and a fantastic new addition to our offices and practice.”
