Freedom of media is the pre-requisition for ensuring human rights. Survey reports reveal that vulnerable groups for example ethnic groups, disabled, women, children, hindus etc can not communicate with the civil society members to express their concerns and needs due to lack of knowledge on necessary protocols and procedures. In this regard Relief International and Bangladesh Center for Development Journalism and Communication has been partnered to foster human rights in Bangladesh.
On 04 Feb2009 Relief International organized one day workshop named Media Telecentre Workshop at Chowara Girls High School in Comilla with a view to improving the ICT skills of the community members. The workshop targets media professionals. students, teachers, Social activists. Through participating the workshop the participants came to know how ICTs can help the underprivileged groups to publicize their concerns and needs which will be much helpful especially for the rural community.
I thank the organizers to let us know about ICT implication in terms of socieoeconomic development.
