Srinagar,May 28, (Scoop News) -Describing media as a vital link between people and administration, Director General Police (DGP), Kuldeep Khoda today thanked various segments of media for extending their co operation during his tenure as head of the J&K Police.
Interacting with the members of media fraternity here today, Khoda appreciated the role of the media in constructively criticizing the establishment in pointing out certain shortcomings which according to him were removed in the shortest possible time.
”Sometimes there were instances when the media persons complained about them not being treated well but it was all because of misunderstandings and communication gaps between the media and the establishment”, the outgoing DGP said adding that the law enforcement agencies must make sure that such gaps and misunderstanding are not allowed to happen.
“I have had very good relations with the media and I hope my successors will follow suit”, Khoda said. He said that the PHQ Public Relations Wing headed by Qazi Mohammad Shafi played an important role in maintaining good media relations.
The Director General Police also released a Crime Gazzette on the occasion.
