The regional office of National Bureau of Investigation or NBI finally released their official report on the death of a newly born baby girl who was mysteriously died inside a delivery room of a government hospital in Baguio City. The incident which happened last March 17, 2008 at around 12 midnight, was one of the worst medical malpractice ever happened in the City of Pines.
Based on the autopsy report of the NBI-the lead investigating agency who conducted the impartial report – the baby’s head had a slashed neck and was decapitated right after it was pulled out of the mother’s viginal opening. According to Amy Diaz, the mother of the baby, she saw her baby’s decapitated head rolled on the floor. She was horribly shocked of what she saw on her first born.
But the medical staffs calmed her down and told her that it was just an abnormal delivery that nothing irregular happened. Unconvinced the couple sought experts’ intervention to know if somebody committed negligence on the delivery of their first child. And so after two weeks of waiting, the NBI report concluded that something went wrong pointing to medical malpractice as the cause of the baby’s untimely death.
Although, the report was prepared by medico legal experts of the NBI, the medical staffs involved and the hospital refused to give statement to rebut or deny the findings. Meantime, Amy Diaz and her husband are contemplating on their next move whether to file criminal charges or not.
