Srinagar, January 05 (Vijay Kumar)-With the strenuous efforts of the state government, the medical tourism has started picking up in the valley particularly in Orthopedic and allied ailments.
In this connection, Ali Jabir from Iraq, working in Ministry of Health, Iraq was advised by the doctors for going Disc L5 and SI surgery and was suffering for the last five year. Keeping in touch with the medical fraternity in Kashmir particularly, Dr. Tariq Tramboo, Disc Surgery Specialist, arrived here last week.
The doctor removed the disc material with special needle instrument called “Percutaneous Nucleotomy” of the patient, Ali Jabir of Iraq and was discharged same day. Ali Jabir said “he next day went for a routine morning walk and even hiking and felt fit completely”. Ali said that also talked to his wife in Iraq during surgery. He expressed his gratitude to Dr. Tariq and his team for this.
The Nafez from Jordan who is HOD in King Hussain Cancer Centre, Jordan has also arrived here for undergoing ‘disc material removing practice’ without surgery in a private medical institute in Srinagar. No anesthesia is administered to the patient for conducting this needle surgery.
Dr. Tariq Tramboo said procedures are very rare expertise and the visiting doctors and patients from abroad describe Kashmir as the best place for this treatment of this painful disease.
Besides, Professor Dr. Aadil Sayed of Interventional Radiology of Assalam International Hospital Kuwait and Dr. Khalid Murad, Chief Anestheology, najaf also have arrived for undergoing this training in this valley institute.
