Mehbooba said even in the face of grave personal threats and serious hazards the medical community is working almost round the clock to provide succor and relief to the victims of voilance. “We owe them a huge debt of gratitude” she said. Mehbooba added that the ambulance drivers emerged as heroe’s in their own right during the current crisis.
The PDP president said it was extremely heartening to see people in large numbers organizing blood donation camps and donating blood for their brethern who were in dire need of it. Though government restrictions, curfew , physical assaults and arrests created hurdles but the volunteers every where braved heavy odds to provide blood to the injured many of whom might have lost their battle of life in absence of it.
Mehbooba said one feels humbled by the collective and individual expressions of human feelings and display of strong comumity bonds. This has been at full display through the efforts to rescue the injured, reach out to the bereaved and organize a self less relief effort. These, she said are all signs of a mature and civilized society and provides not just a silverlining on a dark horizon, but also demonstrates the strong fundamentals of our society.
