Srinagar, November 23(Scoop News)- National Conference on Saturday described PDP President, Mehbooba Mufti’s press statement about poll boycott and allegations against NC as ‘barking up the wrong tree’ and a sheer example of political tactics of circulating feelers. He said PDP is finding itself in between the sky and the deep sea for its failures, falsehood and machination, as such resorts to blame game and mud throwing to divert the attention of people.
“All are aware of the traditional tactics of PDP leadership to create fear-psychosis in the minds of committed NC voters and workers at the beginning of elections to compel them shun the exercise of their right to vote thus enhancing chances of stuff pre-poll rigging in favour of PDP”, Tanvir Sadiq, Political secretary to Omar Abdullah said adding that the 2002 and 2008 elections have amply vindicated this practice of PDP to effect the poll results. He said the duplicity and politics of deceit by People’s Democratic Party is now are exposed and nobody is ready to get hit by the same stone time and again.
Tanvir said that the charge levelled by PDP leadership against the elderly separatists leader (Syed Ali Shah Gelani) about the status and nature of his poll boycott call should better be replied by Gelani himself. “We have nothing to say in this regard”, the political secretary said and added that in fact boycott calls by separatists have always damaged poll prospectus of National Conference as this gives full field to those who have been traditionally against National Conference to cast votes compelling NC voters to sit at homes by creating fear in their minds and resorting to violence against them.
“It has clearly come to fore that in the past elections the NC voters were threatened not to cast their votes and they were put to atrocities and threats by using fire and muscle power against them. This was staged to help the anti-National Conference forces arrange pre-poll rigging particularly in the strong hold areas of National Conference and the gains obtained by PDP in these elections by this tactics is well established and well recognised by all”, the Omar’s Political secretary said and castigated PDP for diverting the attention of people from its utter failure to seek good for people and ditching the youth by false promises.
Tanvir said that talking of youth does not suit the PDP which promised two government tops to each household before elections and when the party came to power forget it all-together “get only indulged in backdoor engagements marring the genuine rights and qualification of youth in general”. He said how far Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah is concerned about the welfare of youth is amply clear by the path breaking initiatives and historic measures his government took to enhance job opportunities for youth both in the government and the private sectors.
“Omar Abdullah laid a strong edifice of a strategy where under all qualified youth would get absorbed in the open job market easily as their skills and employability has been focused for enhancement besides providing them new and viable schemes to venture upon in the sector of entrepreneurship development”. He said Omar Abdullah is always available to youth of Jammu and Kashmir and constantly interacts with them and guides them via e-mail exchange initiative he has created for them one on one.
The Political Secretary said that PDP blame game and accusations levelling is mere a tactics of this party to deceive people by falsehood which remained the trait of this party since its inception. “The leadership of this party must know that people cannot by deceived time and again”, he said that the frustration of PDP for power is so high that it can go to any extend to grab power for their vested interests otherwise they have no concerned for the state or its people as has been observed by the people when this party was in power and as its working standard as an opposition party.
Sadiq said that the unearthing of BOPEE scam was due to the vigilant monitoring mechanism put in place by the Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah in the state to bring all government departments under full public scan and curb the chances of corruption. Instead of appreciating the historic and innovative initiatives implemented by Omar Abdullah for transparency, accountability and public empowerment, the attitude of PDP in this regard is most unfortunate and biased.
The Political secretary wondered how for Mehbooba Mufti could go to mislead youth and kill their hope just for party politics. He said it is most unfortunate for PDP President to drag youth of J&K to darkness.
“Also instead of re-kindling enthusiasm and brining positivity in their feelings, she is making them disappointed”, Tanvir said
