Three members of the notorious Dutch biker gang “No Surrender” reportedly journeyed to Iraq and Syria last week in order to fight alongside Kurdish troops and against Islamic State (IS) militants.
As to the legality “Joining a foreign armed force was previously punishable, now it’s no longer forbidden,” Dutch public prosecutor’s spokesman, Wim de Bruin, is quoted as saying.
“The big difference with IS is that it’s listed as a terrorist group,” De Bruin said. “That means that even preparing to join IS is punishable.”
The prosecutor indicated that this is a grey area. So long as that person does not enlist in a battle against the Netherlands “they are not committing a crime.” If that individual who is a member of the motorcycle gang are found however to be engaging in rape or torture or war crimes – they could face criminal charges”, he warned.
The prosecutor indicated that such things happen, but unless there is evidence that he is part of a conspiracy to commit acts of terrorism there is nothing he can do.
No Surrender is a particularly notorious motorcycle club in the Netherlands. Members are suspected of engaging in all sorts of nefarious activities, including apparently fighting terrorist groups in Kurdistan.

A post by Julia (last name not revealed for security reasons) sums up how one Dutch citizens feels about these guys fighting in Iraq:
“Regardless of how negatively I feel about ISIS, none of these people have any moral right to fight those fights. It’s just not their fights, not their land, not their people. Iraq and Syria are very much unrelated to Holland and America places. If only everyone stopped interfering in Syria and Iraq, if only all jihadists, volunteers and most importantly, American troops left, these countries would finally have a chance to sort out it’s own business and get back to normal. All these foreigners clearly only make things worse and cause this chaos to go on. If only America and it’s colonies in the region stopped sponsoring, arming and training terrorists, Syrian and Iraqi Armies would restore order in a very short time, but, clearly, order has never been the priority.”
A response from anonymous in the US says:
“Politic is hard to understand! PKK fight Turk, Turk Supported ISIS, PKK fight ISIS, Turk is member of NATO, USA support PKK (Kurd), USA financed ISIS, and ISIS said want to raise the black flag over the White House?”
