Merging of Prosecution in Police department Urged

 

CHITRAL: A local social worker and senior vice president of Pakistan Muslim League Quaide Azam group Noor Elahi of Chamarkun through a press release revealed that increasing of crime ratio in the country is causing due to separating of prosecution from police department. He said that prosecution was working under district police officer in each district and under police department in the province but due to a pre-planning conspiracy it was separated from police control and was handed over to home department as a result its efficiency badly affected as well as police department more weakened and helpless without their support.  He said that this is responsibility of prosecution to submit criminal cases in the court timely for early verdict and giving punishment to culprits. After separating it from police district public prosecutor and assistant public prosecutor are not bound nor they accountable to police department. As a result their efficiency was affected badly. He alleged that prosecution and pleaders having sympathy with criminal group due to unknown reasons and that is why they take no interest in arguments and a large number of criminal segments acquitting from the courts due to weakness of Prosecution  because the learned courts depend upon arguments of both parties. Furthermore prosecution can not perform their duty perfectly without a uniform and affected people are trying to hire services of a private counsel despite that this is the duty of prosecution to trial the case. He also alleged that despite drawing of heavy remuneration prosecution not read the criminal cases nor they preparing for cross question and arguments as a result mostly these criminal people are being acquitting from the courts as a result these culprits, terrorists and law brokers are encouraged due to neglect of prosecution he alleged. 

 

Noor Elahi appeal to Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtonhwa, Chief Secretary KP, Inspector General of Police, Secretary Home Department, Secretary Law, Deputy Inspector General of Police Malakand Division, District Coordination Officer Chitral, District Police Officer Chitral  and SSP Investigations for re-merging of prosecution into police department. He further appeal that prosecution must be bound to be responsible and accountable to district police officer. He also appeals to authorize district Police officer for writing of Annual Confidential Report (ACR) of DPP and Assistant Public Prosecutor in each district. He also appeal that no district public prosecutor should be allow to serve in his native district for more than of 3 years for neutral trial and transparency.
