“Team Shaquile”is showing signs of early elimination in the ongoing 2007-2008 NBA Conference. The Miami Heat looks like a spent force of aging veterans aided by inexperienced young players. The team’s stats are poor compared to the rest of the NBA teams. Their “center of attraction” Shaquile O’Neal is bothered by injury and his bulging weight, affecting his stats and his performance in the hard court.
Their other star player Dwayne Wade is likewise not a factor because of his pestering on/off injury. His body has yet to reach the 100% performance level that he used to be. The rest of the gang headed by Jason Williams and Udonis Haslem et al are not contributing much to the team. Pat Riley who is one of the icons in the NBA couldn’t take his wards up the standings. The Miami Heat is losing pathetically in every turn.
And as shown by the team standing, the Miami Heat is at the cellar in the Eastern Conference, with a 4-13 win-lose record. How sad that the team is saddled by “hard court juggernaut.” But the competition is still far from over, maybe the ‘Team Shaquile” will deliver surprises and clawed back into the championship round. I hope they will and give the Miami Heat the standing ovation again.
