Today morning in town Sopore when shopkeepers started opening shops miscreants in different parts of town pelted stones on shopkeepers and forced them to close their shops,Police said in a statement.
Police said that they also pelted stones near Seelu, Aseer, Muslimpeer, Chankhan, Amargarh, Sangrama and Ranji on of civilian vehicles plying on road and damaged about two dozen private vehicles injuring many civilians.
One pregnant lady Zarifa of Kupwara and a two year old child namely Tabish also got injured by stone pelting from miscreants near Sangrama. Thereafter police chased the stone pelters and shops in some parts of the town opened and roads were also made though. In the ensuing clashes SHO Tarzu(Amargarh) Sopore and 5 other policemen and 3 CRPF personnel got injured. Case has been registered and investigation taken up.
: In stone pelting incident in Bijbehara, one army man Ashok Kumar of 20 RR was injured.
Miscreants pelted stones on a Tavera vehicle on way from Jammu to Srinagar near Bijbehara in the jurisdiction of Police Station Bijbehara resulting in serious head injury to army man Ashok Kumar of 20- RR. The injured was shifted to Srinagar hospital for treatment. Police has registered a case in this regard and investigation is on.
In stone pelting incident in Mattan, driver of load carrier received serious head injury this evening.
Miscreants pelted stones on Auto Load carrier near Tickbagh, Mattan in the jurisdiction of Police station Mattan resulting in serious head injury to driver of the vehicle Reyaz ahmad Khanday son of Nazir Ahmad resident of Aang Matipora. The injured was shifted to SKIMS Srinagar for treatment. Police has registered a case in this regard.
: A 23 years lady (name with held) resident of Brenjan, Budgam, in the jurisdiction of police station Chadoora, consumed some poisonous substance. The said lady died on way to hospital. A case been registered in this regard.
Fire broke out in the residential house of Ghulam Qadir Sheikh son of Wali Mohammad resident of Brimer Narsar, fire engulfed other two houses of Nazir Ahmad Sheikh son of Samad Sheikh and Jasif Rashid Sheikh son of Abdul Rashid, resident of Berimer Narsar, Anantnag, in the jurisdiction of Police Station Achabal, resulting in partical damage to the three houses.
Meanwhile, fire broke out in the Shop of Ghulam Qadir Lone son of Abdul Ahad Lone resident of Shivpora, Srinagar in the jurisdiction of Police Station R.M Bagh, resulting in two shops were gutted. However, no loss of life or injury was reported in this incident.
