Military operation in Waziristan

 

“During recent operation of Pakistan Army in North Waziristan two hundred Taliban militants are killed including 50 foreign militants in two day clashes, operation was launched four days ago after attack of Taliban militants on Pakistan security forces in North Waziristan, among 50 killed foreign militants 25 were Uzbuk and rest of them were Arab, Afghan and Tajiks, 45 security forces men have also lost their lives,” General Waheed Arshad of ISPR has said.

In an interview with BBC a spokesman of militant leader in Waziristan Baitullah Mehsood has said that government is not serious concerning release of 280 Pakistan Army men captured by militants, we are demanding exit of Pakistan Army from Waziristan so can cross the border easily to fight war against US lead coalition forces in Afghanistan, he has also demanded release of 30 jailed militants. Commanding Officer Colonel Zafar has told BBC that pro Taliban tribesman had stopped his convoy when he was taking supplies to remote Army camps in Waziristan , his convoy was surrounded by militants, when his superior officer instructed him to wait till the peace negotiations with militants are over, it took four hours, it was not possible to resist then, captured head of military convoy has said that they are well treated by militants, Colonel Zafar and other 280 captured Pakistan Army men were unaware of the fact that their three men are slaughtered by Taliban militants a week ago and their dead bodies were thrown near Grid Station at Wana Jandula road.

“In Meer Ali area of North Waziristan15 more militants are killed on Wednesday, seven persons injured in Air raids are also dead now, during clashes between Pak Army and Taliban militants number of dead  in Meer Ali is raised to 72, in suburban areas of Meer Ali attacks on bases of Taliban suspects were continued during the night,” sources have said.
