New Delhi (GR-TYP-BIN): Mr. Laurent Fabius, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Development of France called on the Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi on February 5.
Prime Minister Modi conveyed condolences to the victims of recent terror attacks in France, and expressed India’s solidarity with the people of France.
Recalling his meeting with President Hollande on the side-lines of the G-20 Summit in Brisbane last year, Prime Minister Modi said that he is looking forward to his visit to France in April.
Prime Minister Modi invited French companies to take advantage of India’s ‘Make in India’ programme in various sectors, especially in view of the liberalized FDI regime in India.
Prime Minister Modi and Mr. Fabius discussed key areas of bilateral cooperation, including Space, Defence, Railways, Smart Cities, Tourism, Sustainable Development, Energy and Climate Change.
‘We discussed various issues relating to Environment Protection and Climate Change, besides touching upon other issues of mutual interest.
India attaches great importance to the visit of the French Minister as it reflects the commitment of the two sides to further deepen bilateral relations. Today’s meeting is also significant because both India and France look forward to a productive and fruitful outcome in 2015 Paris Climate Conference’.
