LAHORE, December 04:-
Minster for Education, Prof. Dr. Mira Phailbus has directed the departmental authorities to expedite the disposal of promotion cases so as to end the backlog at the earliest. She further directed to provide employment to the children of deceased government servants under Punjab Civil Servant Rules on humanitarian grounds.
She issued these directions while meeting delegation of teachers and the community leaders of minorities. The Minister said that due to mal administration the promotion cases of the teachers are kept pending on account of different objections and deficiencies. It is moral duty of the principle of the schools and collages to write the annual confidential reports of the teachers well in time and forward complete promotion case to competent authority for further proceedings.
She observed that a lot of promotion cases are pending disposal on the pre-text of different excuses. Delay in promotion causes disappointment in teachers and they have to face finical loss as well. She further stated that this fact is above board that a mentally and finically satisfied teacher can perform his duties in proper manners.
The Minister said that it has been also noticed that employment is not being provided to the children of deceased government servants who died during the service under the provisions of Punjab civil servant rules. These cases need special attentions of authorities to redress the grievances of the family of expired government servants. Under the section 17-A of the above said rules clear-cut instruction has been given to heads of the departments for the provision of employment to orphans and there is no ban or restrictions for the recruitment of this kind. She asked the concerned authorities to speedily process the recruitment cases under the above said provision of civil servant rule on compensation grounds.
