Srinagar, March 14, (Scoop News)_Awami Action Committee (AAC) held a meeting on Saturday at Mirwaiz Manzil under the aegis of Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, and was attended by the district heads and workers of the party and volunteers of Dar-ul-Khair, wherein the political and economic situation in the valley was discussed.
Appreciating and commending the party workers for their selfless service in relief and rehabilitation work in the aftermath of the devastating floods,Mirwaiz stressed upon all party members, especially the youth, to recommit themselves and redouble their efforts towards fulfilling the party’s vision and mission.
He said that right through the past more than 68 years AAC has remained steadfast in its belief and firm in its course of action.
Referring to the recent Indo-Pak foreign secretary talks, Mirwaiz said that India had to shun its obduracy and accept that their is no escape from the path of dialogue as an internationally accepted norm of settling issues.
He informed the members that he has been Invited by the Pakistan High Commissioner in Delhi to brief him with regard to this meeting.In this regard an APHC meeting will be convened soon.
Mirwaiz announced that on the completion of Golden jubilee celebrations of AAC a huge rally will be held on 20th June, this year at Srinagar to commemorate the efforts and contributions of the party leaders and workers during the past fifty years.
He paid rich tribute to the the former party General Secretary Mr. Ghulam Muhammad Bhat,on his 6th death anniversary and praised his contributions made not only to the party but also to the movement.
At the meeting, the party officials, workers and volunteers renewed their pledge to the movement and promised their leader that they will wholeheartedly participate in all party activities and fulfill all their responsibilities towards the party.
