Srinagar, October 16(Scoop News)- Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Kashmir’s chief priest on Wednesday said that people of the state want cooperation and not confrontation between India and Pakistan.
He said that the past seven decades of tension between the two nations has only led to worsening of situation and this ad mot helped in resolving the Kashmir issue.
Mirwaiz made these remarks during his Eid congregation at the historic Jamia Masjid where thousands of faithfuls offered Eid Prayers.
While throwing light on Eid-ul-adha and current political situation, APHC chairman said that the solution of Kashmir issue was pre-cursor to any improvement of relations between India and Pakistan.
Mirwaiz urged New Delhi to create a conducive atmosphere for any such process to move forward.
