Shundor Polo festival started from 7 to 9 July.

CHITRAL: Famous Shundor polo festival is likely to be started from July 7 which will be continue to July 9 without any break at the most high altitude polo ground of Shundor some 13500 feet high from sea level. On the first day of the polo festival polo will be played between Laspoor and Gilgit polo teams. Shundor polo festival is celebrating in tighten security where no loop hole would be left free. Thousands of domestic as well as foreign tourists are arriving to Shundor. Some Diplomats and Ambassadors also expected to be participate in Shundor polo festival. Besides other Federal Minister for sports Najmuddin Khan, Provincial Chief Minister Ameer Haider Hoti, other provincial ministers also expected at Shundoor polo festival.

Ursoon forest catches fire.

Deodar forest of Ursoon some 70 KM from here catch fire on Saturday due to unknown reasons. As a result precious trunk of Deodar of million of rupees were ashes. Local people and police are trying to overcome the fire but due to strong wing it is spreading as a result fire covering other trunks and burning it speedily.

Drosh police foil smuggling bid.

Drosh police seized 60 bags of flour (40 Kg each one) which were smuggling from Chitral to Afghanistan through Arandu the Pak Afghan border village and arrested accused while vehicles using for this purpose were also takes in posses. It is worth to mention here that edible items usually being smuggled to Afghanistan through Arandu.
